I fenced them out one time and then something started eating all of my basil. took the fence off and things got back to normal they like to get in there and kick around I had thought maybe they were feeding on the pest that were eating my basil so I let them back in they can tell a ripe tomato from a unripe tomato so I pick my tomatoes a little early and always leave a couple ripe cherry tomatoes for them. I also find they like to taste alot of things you know just taste just poke a hole and not eat the rest !!! Like my mom used to say don't waste food. I live in the east valley ironwood / mcdowell area and we have little chipmonks or ground squirels NOT SURE WHAT THEY ARE but I had my prize strawberry solen by one. As I watched the little guy sit on a large rock in my yard and devour it I thought to myself I will kill you all !!!!!!!! But then as I watched. I saw a little smile on his rat face. I think he enjoyed it more than I would of .Chrisazraisedbedgardensnoreply@blogger.com
